Pickering Rouge Canoe Club is located in Pickering, Ontario, along the beach spit dividing Frenchman’s Bay from Lake Ontario. This Club location is an excellent spot as we have direct access to both bodies of water. As the Club is sitting on City/TRCA land, we unfortunately do not have an address number, the directions and map below should help to guide you. The mailing address found on our Contact Page and registration forms is strictly a PO Box and not an office or Club/Camp location. We do not have running water at this location and encourage you to pack plenty of water for your practice/program. We have a porto potty on site.
Pickering Rouge Canoe Club – Pickering Location (All Club programs including Dragon Boat)
Frenchman’s Bay is located in the South end of Pickering and our Club site is only reachable via the South West streets, West Shore Blvd and Beachpoint Promenade. When traveling by way of the 401 or Hwy 2 (Kingston Road) exit south on Whites Road. Continue South on Whites Road to Oklahoma Drive and turn left (East). Take Oklahoma Drive (East) to the first four-way stop which is West Shore Blvd and turn right (South) towards Lake Ontario. Continue South until the very end of West Shore Blvd where you will turn left onto Beachpoint Promenade. The road will soon become a dirt road and you will continue until the very end past the beach parking and boat launch. Our Club is located on the Frenchman’s Bay side in the white trailers at the end of the final parking lot.
Pickering Rouge Canoe Club – West Rouge Location (Canoe and Kayak Camp)
Rouge Beach Park is located at the mouth of the Rouge River on Lake Ontario. We are located on the border of Scarborough (West Hill) and Pickering. Traveling from Scarborough, follow Lawrence Ave. East about 1.5 km east of the Rouge Hill GO Station. Continue along Lawrence Ave. East to the entrance of Rouge Beach Park (intersection of Rouge Hills Drive) and drive through the gates and down the hill into the parking lot. We are located around the corner on the beach and accessed by walking under the train bridge and towards Lake Ontario. Our building is connected to the City of Toronto public washrooms (look for the WRCC graffiti art).
Alternatively, if you are traveling from Pickering or anywhere East and wish to park in Pickering and walk 10 minutes to our Camp then please take Whites Road South to Granite Court, following it west until you hit Rosebank Road. Make a left on Rosebank Road and travel South all the way to the end where you will make a quick left over the train tracks onto Rodd Ave. Follow with a quick right onto Bella Vista Drive and park in the public lot on the right. From here you will have a 5-10 minute walk along the Waterfront Trail where you will cross the pedestrian bridge over the Rouge River and walk towards Lake Ontario. We are located on the beach in the building connected to the City of Toronto public washrooms (Look for the WRCC graffiti art).
